Piece description from the artist
Suffering becomes almost sublime at the summit of the Forcella Lagazuoi in the Dolomites. Whoever created this cross must either be a true artist, deeply religious, or perhaps both.
Christ suffers in dignity. This is the most stunning cross I've ever seen. Besides, the Forc is a phenomenal location to observe the Creation. The summit offers a magnificent panorama of well-known mountains such as Civetta, Monte Pelmo, Marmolada and Tofana di Rozes.
Strikingly, the crucifix is stuffed with coins that are wedged in the fissured wood of the cross. It’s a nice ritual and the wood never seems to become full. As if He wants to tell me that there’s still room – and not only in the wood.
