End of Summer Reeds is a painting in minimal colors, using one color paint. Another piece which is part of the BLACK AND WHITE BEACH SERIES. Living on the beach in New England this is the view I see at the end of summer. The grasses and reeds have reached their limit and have been beat up from the tides and are just overgrown. Although I used no color in this painting, I can see in my head the golden gold color they turn at summers end, usually by mid to end of August.
Karen is an artist for over 35 years. Prior to painting full-time – the artist worked in many creative fields in the design world. Living on the beach in CT, her work is influenced by the changing atmosphere and nature. She studied impressionism for 8 years. Her work is collected internationally and has been represented by many galleries throughout her career.
