The inspiration behind this piece came at a time when I felt less than amongst that of the artist community. I felt as though my work wasn't good enough because I wasn't receiving the same opportunities as my peers via social media. It wasn't until I took a step back and saw the 3 eggs that it hit me like a ton of bricks! We're all equally yoked! The will to create and the ability to turn an abstract thought into something tangible is what ties us as artist together and it's truly something special! Never again will I allow my thoughts and/or emotions to separate me from this truth.
Robert Powell, a 34-year-old Minneapolis native, discovered his true calling as an abstract artist three years ago on a whim. Though he’s had his share of challenges, including time spent in prison and substance abuse; he believes he has found his purpose through the transformative power of art.
