I spent a lot of time over the course of 3 years trying to figure out the "Rules" to art, many days went by thinking about how I could make each piece different from the last but then I realized that there are no rules and that ultimately if there were they were most certainly meant to be broken! This piece was a reminder to not only stay in my lane but own it and get comfortable with it as well. This is me and this is how I choose to express myself.
Robert Powell, a 34-year-old Minneapolis native, discovered his true calling as an abstract artist three years ago on a whim. Though he’s had his share of challenges, including time spent in prison and substance abuse; he believes he has found his purpose through the transformative power of art.
