Piece description from the artist
Grain elevators and silos are two of my favorite subjects to photograph. I was lucky enough to see this old grain elevator standing alongside several silos, and it was amazing to see all of them still in use today. Grain elevators are usually found next to railroad tracks, as the elevators were used to load the railcars with wheat from the nearby farmer's fields. These tall structures stand out in the vast open spaces of rural America, and are truly Western icons of their time.
