While driving down a very isolated dirt road in South Dakota, I found this little white farmhouse, tucked under the tall cottonwood trees. Life here must have been very peaceful and quiet here in this little house, surrounded and protected by the canopy of leaves. On a warm summer day, the breeze passing through this grove of trees was cool and fresh. I admire the simplicity of what life used to be in these simple little homes, hand-built by the family that lived there.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
