This famous statue of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the relatively new memorial area by the Tidal Basin in Washington DC is calm and quiet at dawn when the statues are still floodlit but no crowds of people have arrived. The cherry blossoms give a nice framing to the scene and focus the attention on the statue of the President and his dog.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of.
