Fly Awave n.5

Piece description from the artist

"How fresh, how calm, stiller than this of course, the air was in the early morning; like the flap of a wave; the kiss of a wave; chill and sharp…" Virginia Woolf, 'Mrs Dalloway'

This painting belongs to 'Colordive' collection, a series that aims to evoke a solitary jump into the unknown for self-discovery, awareness and freedom.
A spiritual communion with the ocean can both frighten and blind with its beauty. An ancestral instinct of surrendering to the primordial rhythms of the tide that overwhelms and releases giving us back to ourselves.

Acrylic, oil and collage on panel with white wooden frame.

Made of recycled materials: reused wooden panels, discarded wall paint leftovers, paper cut-outs of digital images treated with acrylic resins and seamlessly incorporated into the composition.

The juxtaposition of the three different techniques (digital, oil and acrylic) gives the whole image a distinctive depth and intensity.
