Genii I

Piece description from the artist

This artwork emerged from my desire to create something vibrant and bold. I began with an oval shape as my starting point, and the rest of the composition evolved in response to the canvas. I was particularly intrigued by the contrast between curves and lines and wanted to explore their interaction within the artwork. Additionally, I aimed to convey a sense of depth and transparency, which I achieved through the use of thin layers of paint and ink.

This series of paintings aligns seamlessly with my broader artistic practice, which revolves around exploring the expressive potential of colours and shapes in abstract compositions. It represents my ongoing fascination with the interplay between organic curves and structured lines, and how they can create visually captivating and emotionally resonant pieces. The use of bold colour and the quest for transparency are consistent themes in my work.

I hope viewers are drawn into the vivid and enigmatic world created within this artwork. I want them to experience a sense of wonder and contemplation as they explore the relationships between the curves, lines, and layers. Ultimately, I aim for the piece to evoke emotions and spark their imagination, inviting them to see the beauty in contrast and complexity.
