Piece description from the artist
Walking through the old historic streets of Georgetown, I came the lock gates on the canal and was setting up for my photograph when I noticed this young woman strolling quickly down the path. With a longer than normal shutter speed, I was able to capture her with just a touch of movement to show the energy that is in this famous part of Washington DC
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
