Piece description from the artist
A hot pink storm brews over Sullivan's Island in South Carolina. The powerful colors of a southern sunset are reflected on the waters. Loose brushstrokes and bold hues convey the power and quickness of the storm.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
