Piece description from the artist
I took an early morning walk along Clam Creek on Jekyll Island in Georgia and witnessed the most amazing morning clouds. The sun made an attempt to burn them off but the clouds were too well formed. Incredible pastels of orange and periwinkle painted the sky and inspired this painting.
April is heavily influenced by the classical impressionists but strives to bring about elements of expressionism as well into her paintings. She uses color fearlessly and is always striving to "capture the light". April wants her paintings to invoke the feelings of her subjects and especially the wild feelings of being out of doors surrounded by the beauty of nature.
