Photographed on a winter morning from Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. San Diego, California, USA. A wonderful blend of shapes and patterns as all the disparate elements of nature combine to create a beautiful whole. The rock formation in the image is called "The Arch" and it is a popular place for people to jump from into the sea. The title for the image is for this reason, but also for the surfer seen with this surfboard about to…jump.

Joseph is a self-taught photographer living in San Diego, California. Joseph wants to approach his photography from a place of simplicity and avoid making this enjoyable and creative process overburdened from a technical standpoint. He still continues working to improve his craft all the while though. His photographs are presented in a straightforward way and engage the creative process to produce photographs of familiar subjects in an impressionistic and abstract manner. His simple hope is that his photographic work promotes an interest in art and that it expresses joy and beauty.
