Piece description from the artist
Lake Tahoe in April could be warm, but in 2017 it was far from that. With large drifts of snow to the north of the lake, and a slippery icy patch on the road driving to this spot, it was almost an image that was destined to remain unseen! But I was there, at Lower Eagle Falls near Emerald Bay on the lake and was greeted with a lovely sunrise! It made it all worthwhile!
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
