I painted this on two flat panels wanting to explore a different palette so I began to lay on areas of a black hue with pops of contrasting yellow and white squarish shapes with drip-like grid lines . So the composition had an aerial feel to it and the title came to me quite naturally
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
