The idea for this painting was inspired by a trip to Washington D.C. I had gotten into an exhibition and on the train ride down there was an amazing assortment of graffiti dotting the walls along the rail line. When i returned to the studio scrawl was painted.
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
