An artist friend offered me her outdoor studio a half mile from the beach on Savin Ave. which was surrounded by rose bushes and visiting hummingbirds. It proved to be a breakthrough period for me and change the direction of my painting.
Don’s work is a crossover between pure abstraction and references to the natural world. Color and texture are key elements in his work. His effort is to play with chaos and create balance through layers of transparent color and hue.
