Organic Life explores our perception of nature. The sprawling shapes resemble succulents, however it is hard to distinguish whether the plant is on land or in the water.
The blues and greens create a luminous, otherworldly quality and show how a simple change in palette can alter how we perceive the location.
Elizabeth is based in New Zealand, right near the beach. Being close to such a beautiful landscape provides the inspiration for her work, as she feels a strong connection to her local environment.
Elizabeth is interested in capturing the essence of a place through colour and brushstroke. Her artworks often use vivid colour palettes to capture the feelings experienced while being in nature.
Her painting style is constantly evolving. One of the consistent features is a fascination with colour and light and she works with a variety of different mediums to balance out the two, including gouache, watercolour, acrylic, oil paint and pastels.
