This piece is part of a series called Painted Paper. Handmade rice paper and bamboo papers were painted with ink, watercolor and fluid acrylic paints. A stretched canvas was painted and lines were drawn and the papers were placed in a collage creating the overall designs of this series.
Karen is an artist for over 35 years. Prior to painting full-time – the artist worked in many creative fields in the design world. Living on the beach in CT, her work is influenced by the changing atmosphere and nature. She studied impressionism for 8 years. Her work is collected internationally and has been represented by many galleries throughout her career.
