Piece description from the artist
Part of the "Edible Consumption" Portfolio. These highly constructed photos are attempting to recreate the anxieties and ideals that the media embeds in our society. I am trying to articulate the impossibly perfect environments that I aspire to. My pictures represent a psychological exaggeration of my reality.
Carlie Bristow is a Boston based photographer who finished her BFA in Photography at The Art Institute of Boston in 2010. She grew up on the seacoast of New Hampshire and Maine. She discovered her niche and started exploring photography when she got her first 35mm camera at the age of ten. Most of her work surrounds ideas about food. Specifically, how it plays a role in society and her personal history.
