“Red Horse” is one of a series of equine paintings I began developing since early 2016. Inspirational for this piece was the sideways stance of this horse as she is turning her head to look directly at the viewer with a gentle and curious gaze. I exaggerate the redness of the horse and choose a soft Naples yellow for the background and white in the foreground to complement the bold, red shape. Finally, I added the little bluebird perched on the rear of the horse to add more the story.
The natural world and her love for animals inspire Dara Daniel's Acrylic on canvas, mixed-media paintings. She combines bold colors and shapes and lots of textures to create fun, playful interpretations of horses and other animal spirits.
For all her paintings, she combines all the available elements of design to express rhythms and energy and moods and emotion. Dara explains, "Each painting experience is unique yet, my goal for all my paintings is to capture a degree of nature's passionate spirit, joy, and beauty."
