Piece description from the artist
Sound Waves is inspired by our imagination and the ocean. Have you ever put a shell up to your ear to listen for the sound of the sea? Here Browne used that concept and looked at the pattern of sound waves and ripples on the water to create an intersecting pattern emanating from the shell.
Kyle Browne is a conceptual artist working across mediums with a focus on the interconnectedness of nature and humanity. Her rich colored pencil drawings offer us a portal into the surreal and sacred, while her site-specific sculptures are intimately placed within the landscape. She has been awarded artist residencies with the Manship Artist Studios in MA, Caldera in OR and internationally in New Zealand. She exhibits locally and nationally and is a professor at Mass College of Art and Merrimack College. When she is not creating art you can find her on or by the ocean.
