Piece description from the artist
Two Sufers were hanging out under the Pier during the biolumiscence. Do you know what causes the ocean to turn blue? I had to find a unique angle because other photographers were in the middle of the pier. I didn't want to get them in the shot. Ironically, I caught surfers in the shot instead but didn't realize it until later. I was grateful to experience what nature has to offer in such a unique way. Ellen Brown Memorial or Scripps Pier is one of the most popular destinations in the San Diego area.
