Seeing the wide open spaces of the American West is truly to experience the freedom of getting lost in nature. One early morning, while traveling on this old highway, the sun began to turn the sky pink, casting an amazing warm glow on the entire desert valley in Nevada. I had to pull over and snap a shot of this fleeting moment, when the desert sage brush was tinged shades of pink just like the sky for a few short minutes, and the mountains were dusted with a fresh snow.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. Growing up in Montana's wild and beautiful Landscape led to her deep love of nature and all things rural. Annie attended the Art Institute of Colorado and lived in Denver Colorado until the completion of her Interior Design degree in 2002. After working in that field for several years, Annie moved back to Montana and began her own business, focusing on her ever-growing love of photography. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
