Piece description from the artist
Moose are one of my all-time favorite animals. They are shockingly large when seen in person, as tall or taller than most horses, and all muscle. They carry their massive antlers atop their heads like crowns, but are usually quiet animals, moving slowly but steadily through the forests, munching on one of their favorite snacks, willow trees. I grew up along the Smith River, where willows grow abundantly, so I was lucky enough to see Moose in the wild on several occasions, and each time it is truly amazing. I drew this illustration as an ode to them, surrounded by stars as mesmerizing as they are.
Annie was born and raised in Montana, growing up on her family's ranch in the beautiful Smith River Valley. She began traveling the backroads and wilderness of Montana and the Rocky Mountain region and selling her photos professionally in galleries, shops, and online. She primarily searches for rural Landscapes, old barns, abandoned farmhouses, and occasionally wildlife she encounters. Her work as been featured in HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, and featured in three books on emerging artists of the United States. She currently lives in Billings, Montana, and takes several trips during the year to gather new images.
