Boston's Old State House

Piece description from the artist

A pen & ink drawing of the historic Old State House in downtown Boston, MA. The site where the Declaration of Independence was first read to the citizens of Boston in 1776. Below the balcony of the building is the commemorative circle, in remembrance of the site of the Boston Massacre. Every year on July 4th there is a public reading of the Declaration of Independence from the balcony shown here. It is a cherished event that attracts both locals and tourists alike. In capturing the desired angle for this drawing, I actually decided to lay down flat on my back next to the Massacre circle and snap a dozen photos, while my wife laughed out loud and pretended not to know me. I'm happy with the result though, as I was able to capture the best features of the building, as well as the modern architecture surrounding it. Enjoy the art!
