reaching to the sky.
A stillness in the air,
diamonds shine their flare
on the branches of evergreen trees.
Hazy trails of smoke from every chimney.
A symphony of glitter and the melody of winter.
Juniper and spruce.
Maple, elm and pine.
Wrapped like presents in their powdered shine.
No trails are in the street.
No signs of sidewalk feet.
Puffs of frozen glitter leave a tree.
A universe of stars blankets all the cars,
the sparkling soft galaxy of frost.
An icy breeze sings through
the branches in the park.
