Sky Tree Étude

Piece description from the artist

Just a small subsection of the gargantuan metropolitan Tokyo skyline as viewed from 350 meters above the ground in the Sky Tree.

I was compelled to create a painting that captures the rhythmic shapes of the inconceivably condensed architecture as it appears, ocean-like, from the vantage point in the world's tallest free-standing structure above the world's most populated metropolis.
One of a series of paintings created based on a springtime trip to Kyoto and Tokyo, Japan. By piecing color fields together, I strive to create a vibrant and dramatic scene.
