Piece description from the artist
To begin "Feeling Free," I generously applied acrylic molding paste to the entire canvas adding textures and shapes to complement the form of the horse. After that, I added layers of colors ending with shades of white and antique gold, keeping in mind that I wanted the subject to stand out and blend into the background. Finally, I loosely added more colors to the foreground using vibrant violet, turquoises, and black to add more energy to the painting.
Creating a sense of movement during my process was essential for this piece. Equally important was capturing the spirit of the horse and his direct gaze. In the end, "Feeling Free" seemed like the perfect title for this piece because this horse looks free while running forward. Also, I was feeling free and having fun while developing this piece.
