Piece description from the artist
This photo of the Azure Window, also known as the Dwejra Window, was a 28-metre-tall natural arch on the island of Gozo, located just off the shores of Malta. It has since fallen into the sea and does not exist anymore. When I captured this photo, my goal was to emphasize the fantastical size of the arch and the view through it. My aim was to transform the viewer into a place not often seen, a location that revealed the ages of rock formations, and the innate beauty of the island of Malta. I went there in mid afternoon to see the golden sun illuminate this side of the arch for best photos. Now, this piece is meaningful to me more, as it has decayed and vanished over the years.
