Piece description from the artist
Sometimes the way the light hits a subject tells its own story. These two beautiful pink tulips were highlighted with the shadows providing a lovely vignetting. I like to use a shallow depth of field to lead the eye through the image. In this image, the shallow depth of field allows the eye to notice the vignetting, and the hues of pink in the tulips, without all the details competing for attention. I find this to be a more pleasing, restful, and calming result and my hope is this translates for the viewer.
