Piece description from the artist
White-Gravenor is a classroom building that also houses offices for the dean of Georgetown University in Washington DC. It was completed in 1933 as the Science-Recitation Hall and was named after two Jesuits who arrived in Maryland in 1634. A lovely summer view of the famous building.
Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
