Zooming into Fall

Piece description from the artist

Dolly Sods Wilderness is a U.S. Wilderness Area in the Allegheny Mountains of eastern West Virginia and is part of the Monongahela National Forest of the U.S. Forest Service. The Fall colors of the blueberry bushes are a sight in themselves, but in this image, I decided to select a slower shutter speed and zoom into the center tree during the exposure. After many attempts, I was finally happy with this one! It gives a tremendous feeling of being drawn into the scene.

About Steven Heap

Morgantown, WV

Steve Heap has been a photographer for over 50 years now (which is frightening to think about!) but in that time he has developed an eye for what would make a striking piece of wall art. Photography is all about the light and his finest attribute is patience! Waiting for the conditions to be just right is the key to making a piece of art that you can be proud of. Of course, luck plays a part, but without that patience of being in the right place at the right time, it just becomes a snapshot. He focuses on capturing images from around the world – timeless shots that reward the viewer with insights as they spend more time with them!
