Inspirational for this painting was this horse’s powerful stance and beautiful form. To express motion and emotion, I applied playful brushstrokes and palette knife applications using contrasting color combinations. My palette, for this piece, includes magenta, iridescent gold, a variety of blues and greens, white and black. There is also a hint of red, which helps the shape of the horse stand out from the darker background.
The natural world and her love for animals inspire Dara Daniel's Acrylic on canvas, mixed-media paintings. She combines bold colors and shapes and lots of textures to create fun, playful interpretations of horses and other animal spirits.
For all her paintings, she combines all the available elements of design to express rhythms and energy and moods and emotion. Dara explains, "Each painting experience is unique yet, my goal for all my paintings is to capture a degree of nature's passionate spirit, joy, and beauty."
